On a gloomy day when the sky was grey,

I laid in my bed.

Replaying in my mind what the doctor said.

“Shame on you! cancer cells,” I said

for renting my body which I did not know

until you made random payments.

Your payments disrupted my beautiful life with ugly unlimited pain.

Yes, I must live with you as you live inside me.

Yes, I have been dealing with you but,

now you must deal with me.

I will not soak the pillow with my tears anymore.

I chose to fight as it is the only choice.

So, I traded-in your payments with audacity of hope.

Now, I am a warrior, and my courage is as metastatic as you are.

You can try to time stamp expiration date on my body

but you can never reach my soul.

You can try to consume my positive thoughts with no sympathy

but I will breathe in the air of faith and empathy.

You can try to make me feel helpless

but I will be the hope for the helpless.

If you give me gifts of adversities,

I will exchange them for opportunities.

If you try to invade my dreams,

I will create a new beginning.

One day when I win this fight,

I will not remain as cruel as you were.

I will forgive you cancer cells for you not know what you were doing.
